In the past we have had a lot of skins too test, from the likes of Ottoskins, Diabloskins and more. When i got the iCarbons skin through the post i was a bit sceptical if it would be worthy of a review as most skins we have used are not what we expected. But i must say i was very impressed with iCarbons Brushed Titanium Skin. If you are looking for a skin for your iPhone, i suggest checking out iCarbons.com.
Design
When i saw pictures off this installed on other iPhone’s, my first thought was ‘I am not going too install it as good as that’ but i was wrong, installation was surprisingly easy and once everything was in place i had a big grin on my face due to my perfect installation. The cut outs was of perfect size and the sticker slides stealthily past them, making them look like a part of the skin.
On the front of the device everything is cutout perfectly, you also get given a home button sticker which you can use, i recommend using this as it gives it a unique look compared to most other skin manufactures as they do not give you this choice. On the back you have a lovely cut out for your apple logo which really shines through the Titanium giving it a beautiful contrast, the cut outs for the camera and the flash are small but if placed correctly their is no problems at all.
The side railings do not really catch your eye, as it almost looks exactly the same as its standard colour, but when up close it looks fantastic, i did have some problems with the side sticker being a bit sharp, so if you have a heavy hand and its out of line, you may notice your hand peeling the sticker up.
Performance
The quality of the sticker is very good, when you peel it off the paper too install it, you will notice its of nice thickness, not thick, but not thin enough too rip. The strength of the sticker is also very good, you will not get any creases in the skin as the brushed aluminium is strong and simply does not fold or bend easily, this improves installation quality and general protection on your iPhone.
Talking about protection, you will be surprised on how much this skin does actually protect your iPhone. Its surrounded by a strong brushed aluminium skin which will not allow any scratches on your iPhone (where the skin is placed), it will protect the back, side and front of your device, but beware your screen isn’t protected. And do not install this skin on top of a screen protector as you will notice the skin will slide around and it will also add a bit of thickness too the front of your phone.
Overall Opinion
Overall this has to be my favourite skin i have ever installed on my iPhone 4S, its easy too install, its cheap, its of high quality but most of all, it looks fantastic and it gives it that unique look too your iPhone which will make people have too look twice. The only downfall is that you cannot use a case or screen protector when this is installed, which does not bother me at all. This product is fantastic and i recommend you checking it out if your interested in a high quality skin for your iPhone 4/4S.
